About us

Geréby Mansion Hotel and Stables lies in picturesque surroundings, in the heart of the Great Plain, some 30 minutes away from Budapest by car, 3 km from the M5 exit of Lajosmizse. The magic natural environment is attractive especially in the summer, but riding sleigh in the Pusta in wintertime is also unforgettable. The park is usually overwhelmed by twitter of birds, mallards lay eggs in the lakeside bushes. In silent summer dawns, roe deer venture into the park. Due to the location of the buildings, guests may feel themselves close to nature while they do not have to reject the slightest grade of comfort. Here you can really forget the everyday hectic; these harmonic surroundings make you relax without noticing it at all.

or your comprehensive and pleasant spare time we have several services to offer. After a hard day full of work, a drink can be refreshing in the drink bar where you can also find entertaining possibilities for darts, billiards, table football, card and chess table. Outdoor sport and entertaining facilities make our hotel more attractive. In high summertime, a splash in the open-air swimming pool is a cooling experience, sun-loungers invite for a rest. For active guests, a grassy football field, basketball, beach volleyball and two tennis courts, a table tennis and ninepins are all available. We provide tennis rackets, balls and other devices free of charge. Jungle gym, slide and see-saw welcome children in the playground. Nearby tourist routes attract for a nice walk in the park, but you can also visit some further destinations by hired bikes or on horse carriages. One of the spectacles is the neighbouring fasan and wild boar colony. There are also some excellent fishing and hunting places lying not far away. For organising a special programme we place our services at your disposal.

Goulash soup steaming in a cauldron or a cup of refreshing smooth strawberry crémesoup, goose liver frizzled on onions or light lasagne with vegetables, and a Somló sponge cake as big as a main course – everyone can find delicacy for its own taste in Geréby Mansion. We serve not simply meals, rather a gastronomic experience. The guarantee is Master Chef András Zala, who has been our Chef de Cuisine since the opening year 1986. Our cuisine offers spit and grilled specialities besides meals in cauldron, which we suggest for group events. Outdoor goulash party, pork on the spit or ox grill, different kinds of grilled meat on charcoal make the offer more colourful for those who are not only looking for taste but spectacle as well. Besides savoury regional wine, good mood is provided by the excellent gipsy orchestra of the house. For wine-lovers we have wine from the best Hungarian wine-growers. Being loyal to the regional character of the Geréby Mansion, we offer 'Cserszegi Fűszeres' as Wine of the House made by János Frittmann, who became Wine-grower of the Year 2007 as well as the Blue Frankish and the legendary Blue Frankish Rose. However, you will also find wines from other outstanding wine houses such as József Bock, Attila Gere, Ferenc Takler, Vilmos Thummerer, Péter Vida and Vylyan Winery.
