About us
The Royal Guard and Riding Hall are significant buildings in the Buda Castle Quarter, they have been reconstructed as part of the National Hauszmann Program. The Royal Guard (Főőrség) offers a modern restaurant and café in a historic setting, a cosy atmosphere, quality gastronomy and a fascinating educational experience. Upstairs, a niche exhibition has been opened, where visitors can view more than 500 paintings, lithographs and archival photographs from the 260-year history of the Hungarian Guard, most of which are on display for the first time. The exhibition space is also suitable for extraordinary history lessons for school groups. The special rooms (Miklós and Lipót), named after the first and second captains of the Hungarian Royal Guard, have a special atmosphere and can accommodate almost any type of event. The picturesque Royal Guard building can host a wide range of events. It can be a unique venue for weddings, partner meetings, press events, product launches, corporate events, meetings, or family gatherings. The Royal Riding Hall is surrounded by the renewed Csikós Courtyard, which is also an excellent outdoor venue for events. Entering the building, you will see the grand and elegant riding hall, which with its 640 square metres of floor space and nearly 15 metres of ceiling height, can provide an exceptional venue for large-scale corporate events, conferences, exhibitions or even balls and weddings.

Catering
Exclusive catering supplier on the venue
The Royal Guard invites you to take part in a historical
adventure, as an integral part of which our café offers a
culinary sensation. Even beyond the excellent food, we
treat our cherished guests as friends, and strive to
convey the "royal" atmosphere of the location.
This philosophy is also present at the events we
organise. The guests at these events can enjoy our
best-loved dishes and share in the culinary experience
that the café provides.
Among other things, they can try crispy pork knuckles
skewered on a sword, or an excellent Emperor’s Mess
that we offer in “Budapest” and “Vienna” style.
Our chef is a fervent believer in quality ingredients that
come from the Carpathian Basin. Most of our
ingredients are provided by local farmers and
producers, and we accept nothing else than the very
best.
